Record bream catch
Waltonians chairman Mark Jones has waited a long time to see the bream really show in Teggs Nose. In late 2006 Mark just could not stop landing bream one after another if fact in just 5 hours he landed 58 fish ranging from 3lb to 6lb with a total weight of well over 200lb.
Mark said “It was quite first thing in the morning, not even a bit I pulled in an took a brief walk up the bank to say hello to a few people thinking it was going to be a long day then headed back to the swim for one last go straight away a classic slow steady drop of the float saw the first fish and then another and another they just did not stop for 5 hrs. Unfortunately I had to cut short the session to get home else I know the tally would have been even greater, what a day!”
