CLUB NEWS…

It has been another good year for the club, with a lot of new members joining the club. The new web site is up and running now keeping new and old members up to date with reports, what’s going on around the waters, info on the club match’s and working parties etc. You can visit us at www.waltonians.co.uk. Also for members that don’t know the club stocked new carp into Teggs Nose in Nov of this year.Which included 14 carp from 7.6lb to 9.6lb And 116 carp 2.6lb to 3.6lb All the fish are stunning fully scaled and zip linears and one 9.6lb common carp if you catch any off these fish although they are small please treat them with repect they are the clubs future.Here are a few of the new fish..
Winter feeding has started again on Teggs Nose from nov to march to give a good start for the new carp..
The club will be doing quite a lot of work on Teggs Nose this winter, removing snags and opening new pegs up Work will continue throughout the season, making this a very nice water to fish. Why not come along to a club meeting at the Crown Pub on Bond Street in Macclesfield. The meeting is held on the first Thursday of every month at 8pm, all members new and old are very welcome.

BALIFFS REPORT…

As you may have noticed we have removed the rubbish bins from Teggs Nose because of the amount of rubbish being left at the water, so can I please ask all members to take all rubbish home with you including cigarette ends and not to bring any tins on to any club waters with them. Also can I remind members to have there permit with them, filled in and a picture of themselves inside at all times. Any member fishing for carp to always have a large landing net and unhooking mat with them when fishing.Also please do not park your car on the over flow as we have been getting complaints from united utilities for damage being caused..

As from July 2010 we will be selling season tickets for the last 6 months of the season without a joining fee at a cost of £25 and extending the yearly re-joining date to the first week of February.

With the new website upgrade has come several new improvements and features:

A new gallery for all your catches, landscape and general fishing shots - the gallery was a popular feature from the old site but was difficult to update this one is driven from our own photo library so is very quick for us to get your pictures on there, so send them in now to gallery@waltonians.co.uk

Regular news - the latest news bulletins will be post directly to the homepage of the site, the club news will now be kept up to date by several members of the club providing you with the very latest nes from our meeting minutes through to catch reports.

The Waltonians Blog - for those who are not sure what a blog is? it is a web log of the club. The blog will form a central part of the club site and is driven by the members for the members. The blog will provide many different dicussion topics and articles for the members to comment on. This feedback will be a viatal link to you the member to have your say.

Interactive maps - All our water information now has linked interactive Google maps giving you direct instructions on how to get to the water.

Mark said “It was quite first thing in the morning, not even a bit I pulled in an took a brief walk up the bank to say hello to a few people thinking it was going to be a long day then headed back to the swim for one last go straight away a classic slow steady drop of the float saw the first fish and then another and another they just did not stop for 5 hrs. Unfortunately I had to cut short the session to get home else I know the tally would have been even greater, what a day!”

On Monday Janurary 8th four new Mark Simmons carp where stocked. All the fish where Mirror carp at 21lb +. We hope to see some significant growth from these fish, we will be supplimenting the food supply over the colder months to encourage the fish as much as possible.
